B & D Ag Enterprises, LLC, an Iowa limited liability company, operates this site under the brand name Prole Pastures.

What you're buying

When you reserve a beef share, you're buying a share of an animal we will raise and have processed. The size category (whole, half, quarter, eighth) sets the proportion. Final invoice price is calculated based on actual hanging weight × posted price per pound; your 60% holding fee and two follow-up payments count toward that total. Processing is included in the posted price.

Holding fee & payments

A 60% holding fee reserves your spot in a specific harvest window; the remaining balance is due in two equal payments before pickup. Buy-now-pay-later options (Klarna, Afterpay) may be offered at invoicing. Holding fees are refundable up to the cutoff date listed on the window; after that they cover our committed feed, processing, and pen-space costs and are non-refundable.

Final balance

Once your animal is processed and the hanging weight is confirmed at Maxwell Custom Beef, we email a final invoice. Final balance is due before pickup.

Pickup

You're responsible for picking up your beef during the assigned pickup window at Maxwell Custom Beef (or a delivery address we've agreed to). If you're unable to pick up, contact us before the window — short-term holds are usually possible.

Quality

We stand behind our beef. If something arrives damaged or the cut sheet was not followed, contact us within 7 days of pickup and we'll work it out.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa.
